Royal Honors Honours for Richard Rogers, Anna Wintour

The United Kingdom marked Queen Elizabeth‘s birthday on Saturday (although technically it’s on April 21), and she celebrated by handing out honors—or honours, we should say—to those on her “birthday list.” Making this year’s list was architect Richard Rogers (that’s Lord Rogers to you) and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, whose arietine Costume Institute gala frock whipped up by Karl Lagerfeld continues to occupy our thoughts like a vexing crossword clue.

Knighted in 1992, Rogers was this year made a Companion of Honour, joining an exclusive group of 65 high achievers that includes politician Sir John Major, painter Lucian Freud, and physicist Stephen Hawking.
