Robert Sklar Passes Away in Cycling Accident
Film historian, NYU professor and former LA Times journalist Robert Sklar has passed away in Spain, apparently from injuries sustained in a horrible cycling accident, according to IFC News. He’s arguably best known for his book Movie-Made America–an essential read for cinema students.

In his many writings, for numerous scholarly journals as well as Cineaste magazine, Sklar displayed an expert ability to engage in a dialogue with the power of movies to reflect cultural awareness (or react against it).
