Refinery29 is the latest publisher to be included in Snapchat’s Discover feature, which allows outlets to publish short, disappearing videos.
Other publishers on Snapchat’s Discover platform include People, CNN, Vice and National Geographic.
Refinery29’s co-CEO Philippe von Borries told Recode that he views Snapchat as TV, not just an app. “It’s like programming for a TV channel in terms of its range and complexity,” he said. “That’s really exciting to us.”
Refinery29 will hire a team of 10 staffers to create its Snapchat-specific content.
