Martha Stewart makes some major changes as Eric Pike loses his job as editor in chief of Martha Stewart Living. He’s replaced by Martha Stewart Weddings EIC Elizabeth Graves, who in turn is replaced by Martha Stewart Living editor at large Amy Conway. The publications also endure layoffs, with a spokeswoman for newish owner Sequential Brands telling Keith Kelly that only “a small fraction of employees were impacted.” To her credit, Stewart was on hand to deliver the bad news to her troops…

The Atlantic launches a politics vertical and newsletter. Washington bureau chief Yoni Appelbaum is at the helm and a number of National Journal staffers have joined him, including Sacha Zimmerman, Nora Kelly, Clare Foran, Priscilla Alvarez, Marina Koren, Andrew McGill and Michelle Cottle… The Financial Times promotes John Thornhill to innovation editor and installs foreign and assistant editor Roula Khalaf in Thornhill’s former deputy editor spot… Glenn Cook takes over as interim editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
