RD Recap: Lee Glendinning Named Editor of Guardian US; Layoffs at Dow Jones

The Guardian installs Lee Glendinning as editor of Guardian US. She had been deputy editor there. “Lee was an integral part of the success of Guardian Australia from the beginning, and has had a similarly dramatic impact on Guardian US, bringing excellent news judgment, digital flair and personal tenacity as well as strong management skills,” Guardian editor in chief Katharine Viner, who had been Glendinning’s direct boss in America, said in an announcement. The move comes on the first official day of Viner’s new role.
