IBT Media undergoes a huge set of layoffs, with at least 15 editorial staffers out, including enterprise editor John Simons and deputy tech editor Paul McDougall. Peter Goodman, the publication’s editor in chief, is leaving as well. “Over the past few months we have been strategically restructuring the company in order to adapt to the changes in the market and to insure IBT Media has a strong path to continued growth,” wrote co-founders Johnathan Davis and Etienne Uzac in a memo. “In these ever shifting and challenging times within our industry, we are responsible for sustaining and reinventing our company as best we can.”…

Jennifer Ceaser loses her job as editor in chief of Islands. She had been in the gig for nine months and says she’s returning to travel writing. Erika Hueneke will take over as editorial director, in addition to serving in the same position at Destination Weddings & Honeymoons… Rodale pushes chief financial officer Tom Pogash out the door. He’s been with the company for 17 years, the last six in the top money man spot. Additionally, Rodale’s Organic Life loses top editor James Oseland, who’s off to write a memoir. Rodale doled out some promotions as well, moving Heidi Cho to vp of digital content and Adam Campbell to vp, managing director. Jeff Tkach will “add oversight of Prevention’s business objectives and day to day operations to his role.”… The Atlantic installs Michael Monroe as vp of marketing and head of Re:think, the publication’s marketing outfit…
