Orange County Register Promotes Sports Vet to Top Editor Slot

Todd Harmonson has been with the paper since 1998.

ToddHarmonsonPicMost recently the Orange County Register’s assistant managing editor of Sports, Todd Harmonson (pictured) has a new and impressive mandate at the Southern California daily, recently purchased out of bankruptcy by Digital First Media. He is taking over for managing editor Donna Wares, who is leaving the paper today to join an online travel startup.

Harmonson has been named senior editor of the Register. In this role, he is responsible for the Register’s news gathering across all platforms including websites, mobile, apps, daily and community newspapers, and monthly magazines Coast, OC Family and Southland Golf.
