Olympics Are 'A Watershed Moment' for Mobile Media

For the past couple years, analysts have been waiting for the predictions of a mobile advertising explosion to come true and it appears as though the Beijing Olympics might be the catalyst. The Nielsen Company called the Games “a watershed moment for media fragmentation tied to mobile,” reporting that “nearly 45 percent of US mobile video users will watch the Olympics on their handsets.”

Mediashift’s Paul Lamb sees huge potential for mobile advertising now that users are driven to the content.
