Yesterday, we briefly mentioned the Council of Fashion Designers of America in regards to their support of the proposed Design Piracy Prohibition Act. Now we return to the CFDA to check out their just-released list of the 31 new designers they’ve asked to join their ranks in October. Among them, perhaps the two most-discussed designers of recent days for their dressing of Michelle Obama, Maria Pinto and Jason Wu. Also, and what will probably land the CFDA the most press, is their invitation to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for their Elizabeth & James and The Row clothing lines. As mentioned by the NY Daily News, it certainly doesn’t hurt that the twins had been cozying up to Diane Von Furstenberg, the CFDA’s president, for the past little while.
