NY State Police Official Resigns in Wake of Times Paterson Story

The third installment of The New York Times‘ reporting on the misdeeds of Governor David Paterson’s administration has drawn blood. Deputy Secretary for Public Safety and Commissioner of the Division of Criminal Justice Services Denise O’Donnell resigned today at 2 p.m.

The Times story detailed a visit by State Police officers to a woman who was pursuing a domestic-violence complaint against Paterson staffer David Johnson. State police did not have jurisdiction over the case.
