Despite losing to the Steelers Sunday night, 27-10, at Heinz Field, enough Jets (and Steeler) fans tuned in to catapult to the top spot in the weekly prime time ratings. The game, broadcast by CBS, reeled in a 1.8 million fans on Channel 2 with a 9.1 rating, according to Nielsen.
Thanks to those strong numbers, 60 Minutes placed second with a shade less than 1.1 million viewers and a 5.6 rating.
In addition, as NBC’s Sunday Night Football, even without the local feel, piled up huge ratings. The Lions and Niners landed in third place with 1 million WNBC viewers and a 5.1 rating.
In the battle of singing competitions, the new season of NBC’s The Voice and Fox’s X Factor are going head-to-head. X Factor has become part “fascination Factor” as Britney Spears debuted as a judge. X Factor grew first blood as the fourth and fifth (tied) most popular shows for the week, combining for 809.5 million WNYW viewers and a 4.1 rating.
As for The Voice, making its fourth cycle, it tied for fifth with X Factor (779,000/4.0) and had a ninth-place result (696,000/3.6).

Matthew Perry’s latest vehicle, the NBC comedy Go On, premiered at number 11 (661,000/3.4).
WABC made its first appearance (only of two) at 13 with Shark Tank (626,000/3.2).
The Yankees and the YES Network made four visits to the Top 30, with the highest rated at 18 (510,000/2.6).
ESPN’s opening Monday night double header was 14th (604,000/3.1).
And lest we forget, the Kardashians, and Keeping Up with them. The latest episode of their E! reality show tied for 29th (410,000/2.1)
