New Philly Papers Company Removes <5 Percent Of Staff

The company that now owns Philly.com, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News has removed “a number” of top managers, a staff reduction that amounts to less than five percent of total staff, Philly.com reports.

Among the staff changes: William K. Marimow stepped down as editor of the Inquirer Thursday. He was replaced by deputy managing editor Stan Wischnowski, who is now serving as acting editor. Marimow told Philly.com that he planned to stay as an investigative reporter.
