More Farewell Notes From LAT Staff

Environmental reporter Margot Roosevelt was among the Los Angeles Times reporters who were cut last week.

She received the news from an Alaskan research station 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle, reports LA Observed.

“I’ve loved the LA Times. I’m grateful to have worked with so many people I admire. I’m heartbroken to be leaving. Please keep in touch,” she wrote. (Full email at the original link.)

The LAT’s timing certainly could have been better. The paper also laid off its Baghdad bureau chief, Salar Jaff, in the cuts.
