Mashable's Social Media Day Plans Garners Support

It’s a big undertaking, creating a day. But Mashable has set to do just that, and it seems to be gathering steam.

On June 8, Mashable announced its plans to designate Wednesday, June 30 “Social Media Day.” It’s a call for Tweeters, Facebook friends, Foursquare spotters and any other group to come together for a massive meet-up at local bars and restaurants, timed across the world.

Victoria, British Columbia has gotten behind the movement, officially dubbing June 30 “Social Media Day”.
