Lebron and Co. Lift WABC to Winning Week with NBA Finals

With the storyline of Lebron James gunning for his first NBA title, the Finals took the Top 3 spots for the week.

Game 1 of ABC’s coverage between the Heat and Thunder had estimated 1.4 million Channel 7 viewers, according to Nielsen, with a 7.1 rating.

Game 2 also performed well with 1.2 million fans and a 6.4 rating. Sunday night’s Game 3 had a slightly smaller audience with 1.2 million viewers and a 6.1 rating.

No basketball for ABC Friday, but the network still scored a big win, thanks to Nik Wallenda. His exhilarating walk above Niagara Falls on a wire was number four with 722,000 people watching the two-hour live broadcast. The special presentation managed a 3.7 rating.

CBS made it’s first appearance on the survey with 60 Minutes at five (626,000/3.2), while NBC cracked the Top 10 with America’s Got Talent (614,000/3.1) in sixth place.

The Stanley Cup Finals clincher, Game 6, had a 14th-place finish for NBC. The game had 484,000 fans tuned in to Channel 4 with a 2.5 rating.

NBC Sports also registered good numbers for the penultimate round of last weekend’s U.S. Open (440,000/2.3) at number 18.

Three Yankee games were Top 30 finishers, led by the June 11th telecast on the YES Network against the Braves (466,000/2.4).
