Santa Fe Journalist Penned Her Own Obituary
Kate McGraw, 71, goes gently into that good night.
Kathleen McGraw, who passed away over the weekend at age 71, book-ended her life as a journalist with two very practical decisions.
At the outset, she changed her last name from Graw to McGraw, because she felt the latter made for a better-sounding byline. The Arkansas native, who was stricken later in life with multiple sclerosis, also prepared her own obituary, a text that will be front and center at the memorial service in Santa Fe this Saturday.
