HuffPost Live, the video site from Huffington Post, has reached a major milestone: One billion video views. The site also grabbed a record high 111 million video views and 22 million unique visitors in January. That’s a jump of 226 percent and 126 percent, respectively, compared to last year.
Roy Sekoff, president and co-creator of HuffPost Live, said that he was pleased with the numbers because it showed that if you produce quality content, the visitors will follow.
“I’m especially proud that we have been able to tally so many views while simultaneously producing high-quality, award-winning work,” he said, in a statement. “That’s the one-two punch we envisioned when we first pitched HuffPost Live — so to see it coming to fruition is deeply satisfying.”
It’s unclear if Sekoff was referring to the video of a testicle-eating fish when he mentioned “high-quality, award-winning work,” but he probably was.
