The Huffington Post has revealed their 2010 list of 100 “Game Changers” — “innovators, mavericks and leaders who are changing their fields and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.”
This year’s list runs the gamut from local heros — like Jorge Munoz, the Queens bus driver who is committed to feeding the homeless — and Dr. Jill Biden, for her role in advocating for community colleges.
HuffPo founder Arianna Huffington (who writes about all 100 who made the list)also explains that some game changing happens in groups:
I’m definitely not the world’s biggest sports fan, but picking Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce as Game Changers was a no-brainer. While Joyce’s bad call cost Galarraga a perfect game, the way they handled things — with the ump quickly admitting his mistake and the player graciously accepting the apology — was a lesson in grace and sportsmanship that inspired us all.
The Game Changers were chosen across fields like Technology, Politics, Entertainment, Green, Philanthropy and, as you read, Sports.
