Gooden To Be Released From Prison

Former Mets and Yankees pitcher Dwight Gooden, serving a year in a Florida prison for violating probation, is set to be released Thursday:

Although he will always be known to baseball fans for his electric performances with the New York Mets as a teenage pitcher out of Tampa, Gooden is just another convicted felon to the state of Florida: inmate No. T47272, scheduled for release Thursday from the Gainesville Correctional Institution. He was sent there after being sentenced to a year and a day after a positive test for cocaine in violation of his probation.
