Univision Paid $27 Million for Stake in The Onion

An expensive vegetable.

How much is less than half of The Onion worth? According to Univision Communication’s fourth quarter report, nearly $30 million.

Univision reported that it shelled out $27.1 million for a 40.5 percent share of The Onion and its sites ClickHole and The A.V. Club.

Overall, Univision’s net income was up to $8.6 million compared to a loss of $136 million during 4Q 2014. Revenue was also up 1.1 percent, to $735 million.
