While WEMP/101.9 looks to make its stamp on the air with an FM news format, the frequency’s former program director has wasted no time in landing on her feet.
The talented and versatile programmer, Leslie Fram, who had been in charge at Alternative Rocker WRXP since June 2008, (four months after going on the air), has been named SVP of music strategy at Country Music Television.
In that role, Fram will lead the music strategy division at the channel, overseeing all music integration within the CMT brand, including original programming, CMT.com, CMT Radio and music video airplay across all media platforms.
Fram reunites with CMT president Brian Philips, as their paths crossed successfully years earlier in Atlanta.
“This move just feels right for me on so many levels. CMT is on a creative hot streak, and I’m honored to join Brian Philips and his all-star team at the network. CMT is a big stage — 93 million homes! I am excited about the creative freedom I’ve been given to invent and innovate with music across all CMT’s platforms,” Fram said in a statement. “I’m anxious to get to Nashville, reconnect with old friends, make new ones and blaze a new trail with CMT.”
Fram, who will report to Philips, begins on September 1st.
