District 9 Director Neill Blomkamps Hires Futurist Syd Mead to Design His Next Film

Legendary futurist and designer, Syd Mead, who we were just talking about the other day with the release of the excellent short documentary about him, 2019: A Future Imagined, has reportedly signed on with director Neill Blomkamps, who made 2009’s hit sci-fi film District 9, to help handle the design duties for his next film, Elysium. Mead, of course, is no stranger to the film industry, having most famously worked on creating the look of Blade Runner and Tron.
