Digital Media Wire's Class of 2010

The editorial team at LA’s Digital Media Wire has compiled its third annual “25 Digital Media Executives to Watch in Digital Media Entertainment ”, preferably if at all possible on some sort of hand-held device.

There are a lot of familiar names in the bunch from companies such as Netflix, OWN, Google TV, RealD and NBC Universal. But we were struck by the revenue stream attached to the blurb for Mikael Hed (pictured), CEO of Helsinki’s Rovio, a company that has developed the “number one mobile gaming phenomenon of 2010.”

That would be (five) Angry Birds:

Rovio is expecting to make $1 million per month in advertising from the free, ad-supported Android version of their mobile game, while also generating millions in revenue from app stores such as Apple’s, where an ad-free version can be purchased.
