Dan Rather's Attorney on Today's Hearing: 'Mr. Rather's Claims Will Be Heard by a Jury'

Today’s decision in Dan Rather’s lawsuit against CBS allows the former newsman to continue pursuing his claim that the network is guilty of breach of contract.

Martin R. Gold, lead attorney for Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal LLP on the Rather suit, who said proving breach of contract would be a “slam dunk,” sent the following statement:

“CBS has again failed to win dismissal of Mr. Rather’s $70 million lawsuit. Justice Gammerman held that all of the allegations of CBS’ misconduct remain in the case.
