Budget Travel Names New Publisher

Michael Carroll has been named publisher of Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel. Carroll was the former director of multimedia advertising sales at The Wall Street Journal.  He joined the newspaper in 2006, as director of travel and tourism advertising sales.

Beginning today, Carroll assumes his new duties with Budget Travel.  Those responsibilities include overseeing the magazine’s worldwide advertising sales and marketing efforts. He will report directly to Nancy Telliho, president of Budget Travel.

“Michael is a highly respected member of the advertising and travel communities and he brings Budget Travel a rare client-side perspective on our business,” Telliho said. 

Carroll joins the most recent expansion of new hires including Lisa Schneider, who joins as the digital general manager; Robert Perino, as art director; Laura Michonski, as the deputy online editor; and Angelo Lombardo, who joins as the New York advertising account executive.
