Ben's Big Pole
As part of CBS-2/KCAL-9’s “Summer of Love” Fireworks Festival tomorrow, artist Benjamin Lucas will be displaying his traveling “Totem Pole of Hope.”
This is no ordinary pole. It’s a 15-foot, 3,000-pound mahogany totem pole erected by the artist to honor rock legends Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and John Lennon. Oh, and it’s going to travel the country. In each city the totem pole stops, Lucas will be asking mayors to demand that the president end the war.
