Arnold: Let Them Eat Supplements

Spokesperson Rob Stutzman defended Governor Schwarzenegger’s $8 million magazine consulting deal yesterday, telling the LAT that 1) the $8 million actually saves taxpayers money, because it allows Arnold to forgo his $175,000 salary and 2) His duties as a consultant to Weider Publications don’t take much time anyway.

Then again, the LAT also notes that Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill to impose restrictions on nutritional supplement manufacturers, one of Weider’s principal sources of advertising revenue (the same revenue which the governor gets a cut of per his deal).
