AP to Expand Digital Offerings, Set Standards

Smart use of extra cash.

The Associated Press is going to use a $400,000 donation from The Knight Foundation to increase its digital offerings.

The money will be used to expand public access to information, hire digital journalists and create a digital standards guide. The guide of best practices will be issued as an addendum to the 2017 Associated Press Stylebook.

The AP, in an announcement, said it hopes the expansion “will lead to more collaborative projects with newsrooms across the country.”
