AOL CEO Supports Unionization Efforts

"A very positive development."

AOL CEO Tim Armstrong is supportive of the recent wave of digital media companies seeking unionization. One day after The Huffington Post announced plans to be repped by the Writers Guild of America East, Armstrong made his position clear.

“The bottom line is there is a tremendous amount of momentum in that space and, to some degree, that is a very positive development,” the 43-year-old CEO told the New York Post.

The Writers Guild of America East already reps Salon, Gawker and Vice.

Armstrong added that the wave of unions feels like a natural progression.
