2007: The Year of Museum Blogging

Interesting bit of chart and graph-ery over at Ideum. It’s a reprint of a slide Jim Spadaccini showed at recent conference for the Association of Science-Technology Center, showing the rapid growth of blogging in/for/at museums. This, we suppose, it’s really tremendously surprising news, given that everyone and their mother’s mother’s nephew’s grandson has at least fifteen blogs, but the jump from 2006 to 2007 in the number of museum running these things is gigantic. It’s like every place with a collection woke up on New Years of this year and said, “Dear lord, everyone’s got a blog but us!” And now, because of that, we’re guessing that, like in our own lives, everything else in the lives of these museums is falling apart because they’re too busy updating their damn blogs all the time.
