Trish TurnerFormer Capitol Hill producer for the FOX News Channel and CNN Trish Turner has been named Washington senior producer of “CBS This Morning.” Turner will fill the role previously held by Jill Jackson, who yesterday, we wrote, is set to join “Face the Nation” as senior producer.

Earlier in her career, Turner was with CNN as a Capitol Hill producer, before joining FOX as a White House producer and senior Capitol Hill producer. In 2012, Turner relocated to New York to manage political coverage of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.”

In an email to staff yesterday, “CBS This Morning” executive producer Chris Licht said, “Trish has extensive experience managing editorial direction, covering campaigns, editing scripts, field producing big events and leading a team—all skills vital to the senior producer role in Washington. As many in our DC bureau who’ve battled against her in the field can attest—it is good to have her WITH us and not AGAINST us.”
