Quitcherbitchin: Newspaper Wages are Actually Climbing?!
Despite what your checking account might be telling you, a new report claims that newspaper salaries are rising. An investigation into employee wages at 400 newspapers in the States and Canada found that, on average your salaries climbed by 2.1% since last year.
The problem is, editorial-page editors and new reporters’ pay didn’t budge while “interactive producers” saw salary hikes of 13% and folks working in “alternative business development” are banking 5% more than last year.
