Out the Caker!

John Kelly, in his new post in the Metro section, writes today about office cake etiquette, and in doing so, describes a prolific caker at the Post:

“The Washington Post used to employ an editor who had the olfactory skills of a bloodhound. Instead of being able to sniff out kidnap victims or escaped convicts, however, he was able to sniff out cake. Specifically, free cake.

“Like a lot of workplaces, The Post marks various milestones — awards, promotions, retirements — with the ritual consumption of sweets.
