Bobbi Bowman, editor of McLean Patch, released this message to “neighbors” today in this quaint goodbye note.
Today is the day I retired as editor of McLean Patch. I have been planning to retire since January when I turned full-retirement age. Thank you. Thank you for one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. First as The McLean Ear and then as McLean Patch, we started publishing March 1, 2010, with one goal: to keep the neighbors informed about what’s going on in our amazing town. During these more than two years you have welcomed us into your homes. You’ve stopped us on the street to give us story ideas. You’ve sent us great news tips. You’ve asked us to find out what’s going on. You’ve praised us and you’ve criticized us. Thank you. Thank you for simply being the best neighbors in the world.
