Locy: An Update

From USA Today:

A former USA TODAY reporter sought Monday to block fines of up to $5,000 a day imposed by a judge who wants her to disclose confidential sources for stories on a scientist under scrutiny in the 2001 anthrax attacks.

Lawyers for Toni Locy told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that the judge is making demands that are “vastly overbroad.”

Locy must pay fines out of her own pocket as long as she refuses to identify her sources.
