Linda Johnson Rice, chairman and CEO of Johnson Publishing Co., which publishes Ebony and Jet magazines, and operates EbonyJet.com, will receive the W.M. Kiplinger Award for Distinguished Contributions to Journalism. The prestigious award is being issued to her and her multi-generational family, which has nurtured and sustained a thriving publishing empire for more than half a century.
The award will be presented Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the foundation’s 26th annual dinner at the Hilton Washington Hotel, a major fund-raising event that honors excellence in American journalism.
