(A Sprinkling of Things we Think you Ought to Know…) Edith and Carolyn get punchy with King and Blitz-- The Iowa Caucuses went on and on and on last night. But the good news is that it made for some deliriously funny television. While trying to get ahead of the official results, CNN's John King and Wolf Blitzer called the Republican Party leadership of what was thought to be the last precinct of Iowa to submit its tallies: Clinton County. That's where Edith and Carolyn come in. They were sassy. They were irreverent. Edith referred to CNN as "you people." But the best part was when King asked Edith to share the results she had so he could compare them to the official state party numbers. The official numbers were missing some data, so King pointed out that the two sets didn't match. "What do you mean the numbers don't match?!" Edith snapped. King then explained that he wasn't questioning the Republican queen of Clinton, merely noting the difference. Watch here. President Obama face plants on Hawaiian beach-- TMZ grabbed a few (over 100) photos of President Barack Obama with family and friends on vacation in Hawaii. Pictured to the right is him diving face first into the sand playing football on the beach. My question: Why is he the only one without a shirt on? Bret Baier's ham handed calculator fumble-- It's a good thing FNC's Bret Baier isn't paid to operate basic technology. And yes, the jumbo-button, big screen iPad calculator app is basic technology. During the Iowa Caucuses Tuesday night Baier tried calculating the difference in votes between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. He began the process but apparently didn't clear out the previous math problem he was computing and threw off the numbers by several thousand on live national television. "You know what, let's go to break and when we come back I'll have the differential right here," Baier said while sheepishly grinning. He was a good sport about it on Twitter, retweeting a message that said he and his calculator were the biggest losers of the night. You can watch it here. Olbermann is bugging his bosses again-- As the saying goes: Once a prissy diva always a prissy diva. CurrentTV host Keith Olbermann thought he was set to anchor the fledgling networks' coverage of the Iowa Caucuses Tuesday night, only to find out (through the NYT no less!) that he wasn't. In response, he sent out a passive aggressive tweet with his bosses tagged in it: "So as not to mislead: I am informed Countdown will not be on tonight. I must defer on all questions to @JoelHyatt @AlGore and @Current." How mysterious. Olbermann was fired from MSNBC in January of last year after a week-long suspension for not disclosing three political contributions he had made and reports of rocky relationships between him and his bosses. Is this the beginning of round two?
