Ernest Borgnine Hates Politicians

In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, actor Ernest Borgnine espouses hatred for politicians. Just generally, not specifically. In the Proust Questionnaire, he’s asked, “Which living person do you most despise?”

His answer: “A politician.”

Later, he’s asked, “Who are your heroes in real life?”

His answer: “Certainly not politicians — surely, police, firemen, doctors and the military.”

Weirdly, early in the interview Borgnine is asked with which historical figure does he most identify?

It’s Abraham Lincoln (incidentally, a politician).
