Subject: Congratulations Elise Labott
We are thrilled to announce that today we are naming Elise Labott as CNN’s Global Affairs Correspondent. This is a particularly special announcement because Elise has virtually grown up at CNN and is a perfect example of how great journalism and the dogged pursuit of a story pays off. Everyone who has worked with Elise or been covered by Elise will agree that she is relentless in her determination to break news.
Elise joined CNN 14 years ago as our State Department producer and later became our Foreign Affairs Reporter. She has emerged as one of the top journalists covering the State Department and American foreign policy. Elise has traveled around the world with five secretaries of state, logging literally hundreds of thousands of miles and reporting from more than 75 countries. She has interviewed every secretary of state since Madeleine Albright and world leaders ranging from Benazir Bhutto to Shimon Peres.
