You Missed ‘Em In Philly, Now Catch ‘Em At Home

We’re going to take a crazy guess and figure that, if you weren’t in Philadelphia recently, you probably missed Mother’s House, the Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown exhibit at the Woodmere Art Museum, which closed yesterday (if you weren’t in Philadelphia but still did see the museum, we’d very much like to hear how you did it). But worry no more about your lapse of judgment in choosing to not attend. As has been floating around, you’ll now get the chance to take in all that is Robert and Denise in the documentary their son has made, Learning From Bob & Denise. Here’s the synopsis:

Learning from Bob and Denise is an upcoming feature-length documentary exploring the complex and contradictory world of the architects, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown.

Husband and wife partners, Venturi and Scott Brown are widely considered among the most influential designers of the 20th century.

Alternately vilified and idolized many times over in the course of their careers, theirs is a story that is part biography, part art history and part sociological survey of the past half century.
