Vox Media, whose brands include the Verge, Eater and SB Nation, ups Trei Brundrett to chief operating officer, a role he’ll be originating for the organization. As COO, Brundrett will be responsible for overseeing Vox Media’s primary 2017 efforts–growing its digital video and native advertising operations.
Brundrett had previously been chief product officer at the organization, and was vp, products and technology, prior to that. During that time, he was in charge of the team developing Chorus, Vox Media’s publishing, advertising and community engagement platform. As Vox Media’s Andrea Rogoff described it in the announcement, “Trei grew Vox Product,” the team responsible for Chorus, “from a just few employees huddled in a DC basement into a division of 120 designers, engineers, and product managers.”
Vox Media announced two additional promotions this morning, with Joe Alicata, who had been vp of revenue product and operations, taking over Brundrett’s chief product officer position. He’ll be responsible for strategy and overseeing all of Vox Media’s product efforts. Lauren Rabaino, who had been director of editorial products, is named executive director of operations.
