Tim Alberta is joining Politico Magazine as a national political reporter, beginning next month. He is currently chief political correspondent at the National Review, which he joined in the Fall of 2015. Prior to joining the National Review, he had been at National Journal, where he had roles as a senior political correspondent and Hotline editor.
“Over the last few years, Tim has done standout work on Republicans and their internal debates, writing with a rigor and sophistication that comes from relentless reporting, deep sourcing and a key sense of where the story is heading,” wrote Politico editor Carrie Budoff Brown, editor in chief John Harris and executive editor Paul Volpe in an email to staff.
This will be Alberta’s second stint at Politico; he had been a web producer there from 2009 to 2010.
