Target puts mobile coupons on customers’ cellphones
Here’s how it works: Point your browser at this Target website…
You are asked for your mobile phone number, timezone, and a preferred message delivery time between 8am and noon. Mobile coupon offers information is sent via a text message once a month. A barcode containing information about the mobile coupon is displayed on your phone’s web browser. This barcode is scanned during checkout to get the discounted price.
Coupon items are not currently targeting individual interests. But, you can see that as a must-have feature in the future.
