Starving Artist? Maybe Not; NEA Sees Growth In Some Arts Occupations

The National Endowment for the Arts, using Bureau of Labor Statistics Data, is reporting that some artsy occupations are projected to grow more than the labor force as a whole.

Barrons.com reports that the NEA’s analysis found demand for museum technicians, conservators, and landscape architects will grow 20 percent in seven years, compared with 10 percent for the workforce overall. Interior designers will see positions grow by 19 percent and architects, 16 percent. Animators’ positions will grow 14 percent, but competition is expected to be keen.
