Sony Ericsson MH907 Earbuds Pauses Audio if One Earbud is Removed

I bought my first iPod (the 1st generation iPod nano) back in 2005. Its ability to pause its audio program when the headphone plug was removed seemed like a good trick back then. None of my other devices (mostly Windows Mobile smartphones did that). I haven’t really seen a good simple headphone tech feature like that since then. But, according to NewsFactor, the Sony Ericsson MH907 earbuds almost makes me change that opinion (but not quite)…

Motion-Detecting Earphones Offered by Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson’s SenseMe technology lets the headphones detect when it is in contact with your ear. Removing one of the earbuds pauses audio playback. The speculated price for these earbuds is $55 which seems like a reasonable price. So, why doesn’t this product interest me more? Here’s the catch: The MH907 only works with recently released Sony Ericsson phones. And, since I don’t have any such phones, I can’t use the earbuds. Ah well… Perhaps Apple will come out with one for the iPods and iPhone.
