Tumblr released an update for iOS Wednesday that allows users to share a post using other social media without leaving the app. “Now you can do more than just reblog when you find something you love on Tumblr for iPhone and iPad,” the company said in a blog post.

Tumblr shut down its Storyboard project, which was designed to surface interesting editorial content, earlier this month. Mashable Other improvements include GIFs that now animate even while you scroll (works only on iPhone 4S or later and iPad 2 or later), and the “Following” list is now alphabetized and searchable. PC Magazine Meanwhile, the new Tumblr for Windows Phone 8 app, launched Tuesday, lets you post “just about anything from just about anywhere — pictures, quotes, music, videos, chats, links, and your random musings,” according to a Tuesday post on Microsoft’s Windows Phone blog. The Windows Phone 8 app also has full GIF support and works with speech recognition so you can use your voice to dictate posts. TechCrunch Unfortunately, the iOS version didn’t get the fancy new, almost Path-like animations the Android version received earlier this month. So yeah, the Android version is currently the better application.

Twitter Partners with Fuse and Trident to Produce Cross-Platform Music TV Show (GigaOM)
Twitter is partnering with the gum company Trident and the music television network Fuse to create “Trending 10,” an entertainment show about popular music that will air both on television and online, using Twitter’s data about music and social conversations about artists to power the content. The companies stated that it will be the first TV show “sourced and produced from real-time Twitter conversation spikes.” AdAge The program features the top 10 trending music-related stories of the day. The picks are determined by Fuse-branded “heat tracker” technology that measures which artists are generating the largest spikes in Twitter conversations.
