Sean O’Brien’s American whirlwind will start Friday morning with an appearance opposite Carson Daly during the 8:00 a.m. hour of Today. Then it’s off to the west coast for what amounts to a victory bash for the human spirit.

Known virally as “Dancing Man,” Londoner O’Brien was fat-shamed at one end of the Web after photos of him dancing circulated. But in very short order, the rest of the world rallied to his side, sparking a crowd-funding campaign and Saturday night’s bash in Los Angeles at Avalon Hollywood. From a report in the Sydney Morning Herald:
Just after the story started going viral in March, Moby tweeted his support, offering to DJ for free and saying, “No one should ever be ashamed about dancing.”
Alongside Moby and special guest Monica Lewinsky, an avowed campaigner against cyber-bullying, actress Tatyana Ali will MC. Way to go Cassandra Fairbanks! She’s the LA-based supporter who came up with the idea for the party and has made it happen together with organizer Hope Leigh.
