Samsung Drops Price Of Galaxy Tablet

Samsung has lowered the price of its Galaxy S tablet and is available through Sprint for $299, down from $600.

After a CES all about tablets and rumors that a new iPad 2 is on the way, Samsung seems to be repositioning itself as a cheaper alternative to the competition. RIM, the maker of BlackBerry, has a new tablet coming out this quarter called the PlayBook, as does Motorola.

The Galaxy S runs the Android Froyo version 2.2 operating system and has a seven-inch screen with two cameras.
