In terms of staffing news, ProPublica has been a notable bright spot in a media season plagued by sizeable layoffs that have hit a number of different types of publications.
The good news at ProPublica continues with three more hires, two at its headquarters in New York and another at its first regional venture in Chicago and its fast-assembling team.
In New York, Nicholas Varchaver joins as a senior editor and Peter Elkind joins as a senior reporter, where both will cover the Trump administration and the president’s business dealings.
The pair had both been longtime Fortune staffers.
