It’s time once again to visit the Twitter feed of Politico congressional reporter Jake Sherman to find out what’s happening in the world of Big Sherm. As we’ve reported in previous updates, Jake is the leading jam band enthusiast among the Washington press corps, so expect phriendly links to jammy videos of
musical instruments being loudly slaughtered by terrible musicians. For example, Sherman tweeted this link:
Phil Lesh and his two sons doing Uncle John’s Band at Princeton over the weekend. bit.ly/K8iw4O
— Jake Sherman (@JakeSherman) June 4, 2012
It’s video of Grateful Dead bass player, Phil Lesh, and his kids jamming on an old hit. Forget the zombie apocalypse. This is far scarier. Hippies are alive in 2012 and they’re BREEDING!
Now that we’re in June, Shermy’s favorite band Phish is preparing to kick off their summer tour this week. The Jakester is clearly excited and tweets out a link to this piece, that reveals that the band has never started a tour playing the same song. MIND BLOWN! Maybe this year, they’ll start with something that doesn’t sound like a band of hippies all whacked out on goo balls that got stuck in a sink disposal. (Don’t count on it.)
We write a lot about these jam bands in our “What’s Jake Tweeting?” segments, so if you’re unfamiliar, here’s a helpful video of the band’s finest work below.
